Sean the Children's book Expert - New Children's Book - TAMARA AND OREO: THE ADVENTURES OF THE ALPHABET TREASURE HUNT!

 

In this blog, I am going to share my experience about a children's book called "TAMARA AND OREO: THE ADVENTURES OF THE ALPHABET TREASURE HUNT!", written by Stephanie Gartmann and Jennifer Cathryn Henriquez.

 
About the book- Stephanie Rose Gartmann was born in Switzerland and has dual nationalities, Swiss and American. She and her daughter, Jennifer Cathryn Henriquez, wrote this book in memory of Oreo, the brown dog who suddenly passed away. He was such a sweet and caring dog. Jennifer Cathryn Henriquez was born in the United States and has dual nationalities, Swiss and American.

My experience- I was a little apprehensive about this book initially. But as we started doing the book, things started to look very good. It was a slightly long book and we were not able to finalize the total number of illustrations. The number of illustrations could only be finalized after a few weeks. The author initially wanted only 22 illustrations, which later changed to 27 and finally it converted to a total of 29 illustrations. The illustrations of this book are exceptionally beautiful and everyone who has looked at this book has loved the illustrations. The children's book illustrations are the most important aspect of any children's book. If the illustrations are beautiful, it automatically enhances the chances of the book doing well in the market. Initially I had suggested the author to limit the number of illustrations to 20 but the author kept insisting that more illustrations are required. I was a bit hesitant, but I realized that the author was right. It is a 40 pages long book and books of such length do require higher number of illustrations. Once the illustrations were done, I was very happy with the quality as well as the number of illustrations. As far as the publishing services are concerned, everything went very, very smooth. It is true that at times it was a little difficult to understand the ideas of the author, but the support staff at Blueberry illustrations is extremely professional. The book was published on February 12th, 2024 and the book has been receiving some extremely wonderful reviews.


Authors experience- The author of this book Stephanie Rose Gartmann approached me regarding her children's book in the month of January 2023. She told me about her book and wanted to know which services would be suitable for her children's book. Since the author was new to the whole concept of children's book publishing, I explained all these services as well as the process with which a book is usually illustrated, designed and published. Once the initial conversation was over, she was quick to confirm that she wanted to use my services. The author was happy with the initial conversations and my experience with children's book illustrations and children's book publishing. I happily explained my experience, that I had with over thousands of children's books when we spoke in the month of January 2023. If I am honest, the author was not very convinced in the beginning when the work had started. But after a few revisions, the author started to see on paper what she had in her mind in terms of children's book illustrations. She was really happy with our children's book illustrator and also how the overall book was shaping up for the next step which was publishing. The author was also very happy with the design and the layout of the book, as well as the overall publishing services, which was provided by blueberry illustrations.
