Sean the Children's book Expert - New Children's Book - Kingdom of Sunshine by Charlene Partee
In this blog, I am going to share my experience about a children's book called Kingdom of Sunshine written by Charlene Partee
About the book- Kingdom of Sunshine is not just a beautiful story, but a powerful reminder of the transformative power of sacrifice and compassion. Josh's decision to leave behind his royal privileges and embark on a selfless journey to bring hope to a desolate village is truly inspiring. It highlights the profound impact we can have on others when we choose to extend love and kindness. The story also carries an essential message of inclusivity and redemption. It teaches children that no one should be forgotten or deemed unredeemable, regardless of their circumstances or differences. By showcasing the commonalities that exist among people, Kingdom of Sunshine emphasizes the unifying force that love and kindness possess. This enchanting tale will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on young readers. They will learn not only about the importance of helping others but also about the remarkable potential within themselves to make a difference in someone else's life. By instilling these values early on, Kingdom of Sunshine nurtures empathy and compassion in children, empowering them to become agents for positive change. With its blend of grace, purposeful action, and heartfelt storytelling, Kingdom of Sunshine radiates with lessons that resonate far beyond its pages. It serves as an uplifting reminder for all ages that even in moments when darkness seems overwhelming, our collective capacity for love and kindness can bring light into any situation.
My experience-
My experience with this particular book was nothing but exceptional. The illustration style selected by the children's book author (Charlene Partee) was digital illustration style and the author initially wanted a total of 10 illustrations. Once the work started on the children's book illustrations, the author wanted four more illustrations for her picture book. The reason was simple, the author felt that the text was not getting fully covered with 10 illustrations. I usually have this advice for children's book authors- stay open to revising the number of illustrations required. It may so happen in the beginning that the author feels that only 10 or 12 illustrations are required but later realizes that more illustrations may be needed. In such cases, the author must be assertive and ask the illustrator to revise the number of illustrations required. I fully supported the request from the author in this case and I also suggested that 14 illustrations will be more suitable for this story rather than 10 book illustrations. Once the illustrations were completed, the author was very happy with the work and really appreciated the illustrator's effort. I had personally suggested the publishing services to the author for her book. The author was a bit reluctant for the E-book initially, but I suggested that adding the e-book will be a good move as e-books have a high demand. The publishing services used for this book included cover, layout, paperback publishing and E-book publishing.
Authors experience-
Charlene (Author) was not very happy in the beginning specially because she was not able to finalize the number of illustrations and there were a few revisions in the children's book illustrations in the beginning. It is very normal in case of children's books. The children book illustrator usually takes a little time to get used to the ideas of the author. Once the author provided the illustrations notes, the illustrator started to work on the ideas given by the author. Initially the work was not immediately accepted by the author and revisions were requested and the illustrator provided the revisions which were requested by the author. It was after the first set of revision, that the author started to love the illustrations. Once all the pencil sketches were approved by the author, the children's book illustrator added color to the illustrations and fully colored book illustrations were completed and shown to the author. The illustrations were liked by the author and the publishing service started. The overall process was quickly completed, and everyone enjoyed working. When the participation is from both sides, the results are always amazing.
